Li Si-chuan outlines New Taipei City mayoral vision

Kuomintang New Taipei City mayoral candidate Li Si-chuan addressed the current election landscape, emphasizing that his primary goal is public service rather than merely obtaining office. Reflecting on his 40-year career in public service, Li noted that he worked alongside current Mayor Hou You-yi on major infrastructure projects and aims to build upon that foundation to transform New Taipei into an international city.

Li proposed a development strategy described as “Dome City in the south and Science City in the north.” This includes transforming the Sanxia and Shanshan areas into a “Dome City” featuring a new arena in Banqiao, and leveraging the Danhai New Town rezoning to connect with Taipei’s tech sectors, creating an AI high-tech corridor.

Responding to political criticism, Li defended his comments regarding citizens' anxieties about the country's political direction, stating he was merely relaying the concerns expressed to him by voters. He also addressed allegations of negative campaigning, asserting that he intends to focus on policy and municipal vision rather than political rhetoric.
