Li Yapeng opens Yunnan homestay to manage massive debts

Chinese actor Li Yapeng, formerly a prominent star known for works such as *The Legend of the Condor Heroes*, has moved to Yunnan to restart his life following significant financial difficulties. After more than five failed business ventures, his debts are estimated to exceed 450 million yuan (approximately 1.665 trillion VND).

His financial struggles have reportedly led to the dissolution of two marriages, first to Faye Wong in 2013 and more recently to Hai He Jin Xi. Since 2023, Li has been placed on a list of dishonest individuals, restricting his ability to access bank loans and air travel.

To recover, Li has invested 30 million yuan—sourced from savings from livestream commerce and loans from friends—to renovate an old house into a high-end homestay in Yunnan, with rates starting at 1,000 NDT per night. He has also launched a coffee brand called Milú Planet Coffee. Observers note that Li has been personally involved in daily operations, including manual coffee brewing and serving guests.
