Lia Pereira and Trennt Michaud lead Team Canada at Skate Canada International

Canadian figure skating pair Lia Pereira and Trennt Michaud are entering the Skate Canada International event in Kelowna, British Columbia, as top medal prospects for Team Canada. The duo, who are the reigning world bronze medallists, are beginning their fourth ISU Grand Prix season following a recent victory at the Nebelhorn Trophy in Germany.

Pereira and Michaud have embraced a leadership role within the national team, describing their experience as providing a ‘mom-and-dad energy’ to newer, junior, and novice skaters at high-performance camps. After previously competing behind world champions Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps, the pair are now Canadian champions heading into the competition at Prospera Place.
