Liam Cunningham presents ‘Palestine 36’ at Sarajevo Film Festival

Irish actor Liam Cunningham, known for his roles in ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Doctor Who’, and ‘Peaky Blinders’, recently visited the region to attend the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival. During the event, he presented his latest film, ‘Palestine 36’, directed by Anemari Jasir.

The film, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and is an Oscar candidate for Palestine, depicts the 1936 Great Palestinian Revolt against British colonial rule. Cunningham portrays Charles Teagart, a historical British officer specializing in counter-insurgency operations.

Beyond his acting career with the Royal Shakespeare Company and various acclaimed film titles, Cunningham is noted for his socio-political activism. He frequently speaks out on issues regarding labor and union rights, healthcare systems in Ireland and the EU, and global conflicts.
