Liam Hicks to participate in 2026 World Series

Tampa Bay Rays catcher Liam Hicks, a native of Toronto, Ontario, is set to participate in the 2026 World Series. Hicks, 27, joined the Rays this season following a trade-deadline deal with the Miami Marlins.

During the 2026 season, Hicks appeared in 142 games across both Florida franchises, recording a .284 batting average with 18 home runs and 82 runs batted in. His performance helped lead the Rays through the postseason, including a double in the American League Divisional Series against the New York Yankees and a run scored during the American League Championship Series against the Cleveland Guardians.

Before his professional career, Hicks developed his skills with the Toronto Mets in the Canadian Premier Baseball League. He later played for the Mineral Area Cardinals and Arkansas State before entering professional baseball as a Rule 5 pick.
