Liam Lawson drives Racing Bulls toward historic F1 championship position
Liam Lawson has bolstered Racing Bulls' position in the Formula 1 Constructors' Championship following a strong performance at the Singapore Grand Prix. Lawson secured a fifth-place finish in the sprint race and seventh in the main Grand Prix, contributing ten points to the team's total of 100. This puts Racing Bulls 32 points ahead of Alpine, who currently sit at 68 points.
Despite the growing lead, Lawson has urged caution, noting that Alpine has demonstrated significant pace in the past. He cited Alpine's unexpected surge during the 2024 season as a reason not to become complacent. Racing Bulls is currently aiming for a historic fifth-place finish in the championship, a feat surpassing the achievements of its predecessors, Toro Rosso and AlphaTauri.
Regarding Lawson's future, team director Alan Permane stated that decisions regarding the 2027 driver lineup will be made in the coming weeks. The team is evaluating several talents, including rookie Arvid Lindblad and Formula 2 driver Nikola Tsolov. However, F1 journalist Ted Kravitz dismissed speculation that Lawson might be replaced, suggesting his recent results have solidified his standing within the team.
