Liam Lawson faces driver uncertainty amid Racing Bulls lineup decisions
Racing Bulls team principal Alan Permane has described the team's driver selection process for 2027 as a “pleasant problem.” The team is currently evaluating its lineup following strong performances from Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad, who have helped secure a fifth-place position in the championship standings.
While Permane noted there is no immediate pressure to announce future plans, the team is also monitoring F2 championship leader Nikola Tsolov as a potential candidate.
Separately, Liam Lawson is facing uncertainty regarding his seat for the upcoming Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Due to Isack Hadjar's wrist injury, Lawson has been filling in for Red Bull Racing, while Yuki Tsunoda has moved to the Racing Bulls seat. Lawson admitted that the lack of clarity regarding which car he will drive makes both physical and mental preparation difficult, as he must adapt to two distinct vehicle setups.
