Liam Lawson rejects Red Bull seat speculation as he builds on 2026 success

New Zealand driver Liam Lawson, racing for the Racing Bulls, said he is not concerned about speculation that Red Bull junior Nikola Tsolov could take his Formula 1 seat. Lawson highlighted his recent form – a sixth‑place finish at the British Grand Prix, raising his points total to 39 and moving into tenth in the drivers’ standings, just three points behind Pierre Gasly.

Red Bull junior Nikola Tsolov, the Bulgarian Formula 2 champion, has been dominant with a clean‑sweep at Silverstone and three consecutive F2 wins, prompting rumours of a possible promotion for 2027. Racing Bulls team principal Alan Permane dismissed the claims, stating no discussions have taken place. Lawson said his focus remains on extracting the most from the current season and not on future driver‑line‑up changes.

Both drivers and the team emphasised that the rumors are unsubstantiated, with Lawson confident his position is secure while Tsolov continues to impress in Formula 2.
