Liam Neeson discusses fitness and career highlights
Actor Liam Neeson, 74, has shared insights into his physical preparation for action roles during the promotion of his new film, The Mongoose. Neeson stated that he no longer follows a rigorous gym routine as he did in previous years, instead relying on daily walks to maintain the necessary conditioning for his roles.
He noted that his physical activity levels fluctuate based on script requirements, increasing intensity when a project demands more physical sequences. Neeson expressed gratitude for continued opportunities to play action characters at his age and mentioned his preference for performing his own fight scenes.
The actor also reflected on a dangerous stunt from twenty years ago during the filming of Caccia spietata in Oregon. He recalled being deeply concerned for his stunt double, Mark Vanselow, who had to perform a stunt in freezing waterfall waters during a period of heavy rain. Neeson and Vanselow, who have collaborated on 30 projects, are currently working together again on The Mongoose, directed by Vanselow.
