CFL suspends B.C. Lions players following Alouettes injury
The Canadian Football League has issued multiple suspensions following a physical Week 15 matchup between the B.C. Lions and the Montreal Alouettes. B.C. defensive back Josh Hagerty has been suspended for two games after allegedly striking Montreal running back Liam Talbot in the groin area on two separate special teams plays. Talbot has undergone surgery for the injury, which sources described as potentially ‘life-altering,’ and has been placed on the injured reserve list for six games, likely ending his season.
Other disciplinary actions include one-game suspensions for B.C. defensive back Ronald Kent Jr., for inciting an altercation, and Montreal defensive back Don Callis, for leaving the bench.
The Alouettes are managing significant roster challenges as they prepare to face the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. In addition to Talbot’s absence, the team is dealing with injuries to Devonte Dedmon and Kabion Ento. Meanwhile, the B.C. Lions are positioned for a strong finish in the Western Division following their 49-28 victory over Montreal, highlighted by a standout performance from receiver Keon Hatcher.
