Lian Yunzhi sets new female Rubik's Cube world record

Six-year-old Chinese girl Lian Yunzhi has set a new female world record for the 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube. Within a three-day period, she broke the record twice, becoming the first female speedcuber to achieve an average time below 4.5 seconds.

Her first record-breaking performance occurred in Wuhan with an average of 4.52 seconds. She subsequently improved her mark to 4.27 seconds during a competition in Guangzhou. The World Cube Association has officially recognized her as the record holder.

Lian began solving the puzzle at age four, initially taking 90 seconds per cube. She currently practices two to three hours daily and has mastered more than 1,300 algorithms. Her parents reportedly took her to Shanghai to train with top instructors to support her progress.
