Liangpei launches AI dating app with marriage guarantee in China

A new Chinese dating app, Liangpei, is utilizing artificial intelligence to combat declining marriage rates in China. The platform offers a unique guarantee: if users do not marry within three years, the company promises to refund the initial 2,000 yuan ($275) fee.

Founded by Zeng Xinxun, a former AI search technology developer at Kimi, the app uses a 20-minute AI-led voice interview to gather deep data on users, including relationship history and property ownership intentions. This process creates highly detailed profiles that go beyond standard age and occupation tags. To encourage serious commitment, the app restricts users to one-on-one conversations once a match is made, a design choice intended to prevent endless searching and focus on building a single relationship.

The launch comes as China faces a significant demographic shift, with marriage numbers dropping to approximately 6.76 million couples in 2025, roughly half of the volume seen a decade ago.
