Flávio Roscoe and Ellen Miziara named PL candidates for Minas Gerais

The Liberal Party (PL) has finalized its gubernatorial ticket for Minas Gerais, naming former Fiemg president Flávio Roscoe as the candidate and Ellen Miziara as his running mate. Miziara, a councilwoman from Uberaba and president of the PL Women's division in Minas Gerais, replaces Charlles Evangelista, who withdrew from the vice-gubernatorial race.

The decision follows political friction regarding Senator Cleitinho Azevedo (Republicanos). Federal Deputy Nikolas Ferreira stated that the PL waited as long as possible for Cleitinho to decide on his own candidacy before moving forward with Roscoe. Despite being on different tickets for the first round, Roscoe and Cleitinho have reportedly reached a non-aggression pact, agreeing to support one another should only one of them advance to the second round.

In his mandatory asset disclosure to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Roscoe declared a total patrimony of approximately R$ 13.35 million, consisting of 25 items including real estate, vehicles, and significant bank deposits. Additionally, Roscoe has criticized the federal government's handling of international trade tensions, specifically regarding U.S. tariffs, arguing that inadequate diplomacy could harm the Brazilian industrial sector.
