Liberalerna advocates for skilled labor migration in Sweden

Liberalerna politicians Johan Britz and Gulan Avci are advocating for a shift in Swedish migration policy to prioritize highly qualified labor migration. They argue that the focus should move away from asylum and family reunification toward attracting global talent to support a dynamic and innovative economy.

Addressing the competence shortage, the proponents note that approximately 24 percent of companies in Stockholm report difficulties in accessing suitable labor. They propose establishing a new agency dedicated to attracting talent and simplifying the process for entrepreneurs to establish businesses in Sweden. While acknowledging recent tightening of rules to prevent exploitation and shadow societies, the party emphasizes that migration should actively benefit the Swedish business sector and national economic growth.
