Liberec customs seize illegal e-cigarettes and nicotine products

Customs officers in Liberec, Czech Republic, discovered hundreds of illegal electronic cigarettes, refills, and nicotine pouches during inspections of two brick-and-mortar stores. The seizure included 770 units of e-cigarettes and refills, along with 50 nicotine pouch products, all lacking valid tobacco tax stamps.

Investigators found that some goods were hidden in unusual locations, such as plastic food buckets. Most of the seized items lacked Czech labeling and required health warnings. Additionally, officers discovered psychomodulatory substances during the inspection, which have been handed over to the Police of the Czech Republic for further investigation. The total value of the seized goods exceeded 194,000 CZK, and the involved parties will be assessed for unpaid excise taxes totaling 172,080 CZK.
