Liberec plans series of multifunctional parking houses
The city of Liberec is planning a series of multifunctional parking houses designed to alleviate traffic congestion in the city center and improve transport flow. The initiative aims to provide over 1,000 new parking spaces through three distinct structures located near the inner city ring.
One proposed facility on Frýdlantská Street, located near the Movela orthopedic clinic, is envisioned as an eight-story building. It is expected to provide approximately 180 parking spaces, commercial areas for shops and services on the lower floors, and nine residential units on the upper levels. Project preparation for this site is slated to begin in June 2027.
The largest planned structure will be a Park & Ride (P+R) facility north of the future regional transport terminal. This building is intended to capture incoming vehicle traffic before it reaches the center, offering 567 spaces across several underground and above-ground levels, alongside commercial spaces. A third facility is expected to provide between 300 and 400 spaces. The city intends for these buildings to integrate with public transport, pedestrian routes, and existing urban amenities.
