Liberec Region expands scholarship programs for international and vocational students

The Liberec Region is implementing various scholarship initiatives to support education and address labor market needs. Through the Trilateral Scholarship Programme, students from four continents are arriving in Liberec. This program connects students from the Czech Republic, Germany, and Poland with peers from Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Participants spend a semester at the Technical University of Liberec and undertake professional internships in Germany and Poland to gain international experience.

Additionally, the region is allocating over 4.2 million CZK by the end of this year to support high school students in 27 specific vocational fields. This funding targets sectors with high employment demand but low student interest, such as technical trades, healthcare, and gastronomy. The program aims to motivate students to pursue professions like welding, electrical work, and nursing, which are currently facing long-term shortages in the local labor market. Total funding for the 2026/2027 school year is expected to reach 12.38 million CZK.
