Liberec Region municipal elections see shifts in local political power

Municipal election results in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic show significant shifts in local political landscapes. In Liberec, the Starostové pro Liberecký kraj (SLK) secured a third consecutive victory. Post-election coalition negotiations have already commenced, with SLK leaders meeting with representatives from ANO and other groups to form a new administration.

In Česká Lípa, the Živá Lípa movement won the election, securing ten mandates in the 25-member assembly. This marks a shift from the previous election where the ANO movement held a dominant position. In Semily, a new group called Moje Semily emerged victorious, winning six mandates and tying with ANO for the second-most seats. The leader of Moje Semily, Sebastian Kuršel, expressed intent to seek coalition partners to form a new local government.

In Jablonec, the ANO movement maintained its success by winning the election, though it faced different outcomes in neighboring municipalities like Česká Lípa.
