Liberian Vice President urges Unity Party lawmakers to prioritize national stability

Liberian Vice President Jeremiah Koung and other senior officials have called for unity within the Unity Party (UP) Legislative Caucus during a strategic retreat in Gbarnga, Bong County. Speaking at the event, Koung urged lawmakers to prioritize national development, peace, and stability over political differences, noting that the 105 elected leaders must work together to steer the country toward prosperity.

Senator Prince Kermue Moye, Sr. emphasized that solidarity is essential for advancing the government’s agenda and preparing for the 2029 general elections. He warned that internal divisions could undermine both the legislature and the administration’s development goals, particularly during the upcoming reconfiguration of legislative committees and leadership positions.

Speaker of the House Richard Koon stated that the retreat aims to strengthen coordination within the governing Alliance to ensure the administration can successfully defend its record and secure the re-election of President Joseph Boakai and Vice President Koung in 2029.
