Liberty café ranks among Europe's best coffee shops

Liberty, a speciality coffee and brunch café located in the Santos neighbourhood of Lisbon, has been ranked 57th in the ‘Europe’s 100 Best Coffee Shops 2026’ list. While the ranking specifically recognizes the café’s Parede location, the Santos site serves as the original location and home to an independent bookshop.

Founded by Yuriy Gushchin, the café is noted for its unique atmosphere, which includes street-side seating and a selection of books and magazines. The establishment offers a specialty menu that includes items such as raspberry matcha and strawberry lemonade.
