Liberty Caribbean warns of AI-driven cyber threats

Liberty Caribbean, which operates Flow, Liberty Business, and BTC, is launching a campaign for Cybersecurity Awareness Month to address the increasing sophistication of AI-driven cyber threats. The initiative, coordinated with parent company Liberty Latin America (LLA), emphasizes that human judgment remains essential in an era of AI-enabled impersonation and fraud.

The campaign promotes three core practices: “pause, verify and report.” During a company-wide cybersecurity town hall held on October 13, security experts discussed how AI can improve workplace efficiency while simultaneously introducing risks that technology alone cannot mitigate. Panellists, including LLA Chief Information Security Officer Felipe Ruíz, urged employees to question unusual requests and take responsibility for protecting sensitive digital information.
