Liberty Media Plans MotoGP Demo at U.S. F1 Grand Prix
Liberty Media, which acquired the MotoGP rights for an estimated €4.2 billion in 2024, is studying a MotoGP demonstration at the Circuit of the Americas during the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix weekend in October. The proposal would allow MotoGP manufacturers to run laps on the F1 track, using the event’s high visibility to raise the series’ profile among American fans.
Industry analysts note that the acquisition opens new commercial and marketing opportunities for brands, as MotoGP’s passionate but smaller fan base could be engaged through sponsorships, fan‑focused activations, and the sport’s reputation for close, action‑filled racing. The move also reflects Liberty Media’s broader strategy to replicate the commercial growth it achieved with Formula 1 since taking control in 2016.
