Liberty Networks to Acquire Gold Data Dominicana in Dominican Republic

The Dominican telecommunications regulator INDOTEL approved Liberty Networks' acquisition of 100 % of the shares of Gold Data Dominicana, S.A. The approval was announced at a press conference led by INDOTEL board chair Guido Gómez Mazara and Liberty Latin America senior vice‑president Ray Collins.

INDOTEL said the decision signals confidence in the country's legal and regulatory stability and will support stronger competition, network resilience and improved connectivity for businesses and operators. Liberty Networks, a wholesale telecom provider and part of Liberty Latin America, expects the purchase to enhance the Dominican Republic’s digital infrastructure, including fiber‑optic and submarine cable assets, and to position the country as a Caribbean digital hub. The transaction is pending final closure according to internal agreements, with INDOTEL pledging continued supervision to ensure consumer benefits.
