Libraries in Germany and Austria launch new cultural and professional programs

Various library institutions in Germany and Austria are launching new cultural and professional development programs.

In Bayreuth, Germany, the RW21 City Library and Adult Education Center are hosting the ‘RW21 Leseherbst’ (Reading Autumn) program. Running from September to November, the series includes readings by bestselling authors such as Marina Neumeier and Ursula Poznanski, creative writing workshops for adults and youth, and lectures on literary figures like Colette.

In Austria, a workshop series titled ‘Library for All’ is being implemented in accordance with the federal library development plan. These sessions will take place in Reichenthal, Kraubath, and Lienz. The workshops focus on increasing library visibility, participatory media collection management, and modern library design inspired by Dutch models. Complementary webinars will also be provided to introduce professional advisory services.
