Dak Lak library staff member missing after school event

A library staff member, Le Thi My Diem, 39, has gone missing following a staff party at Le Dinh Chinh Primary School in Ea Wy commune, Dak Lak province.

On the evening of August 10, after a gathering for employees, Ms. Diem retired to her staff quarters. A colleague in an adjacent room reported hearing unusual noises coming from her room after 9:00 PM, but received no response to calls or messages. On the morning of August 11, smoke was detected, and upon inspection, a mattress and part of a wardrobe were found partially burned. Ms. Diem was not in the room, and her personal belongings, including money and vehicles, remained untouched.

Local authorities, including the Ea Wy Commune People's Committee and Dak Lak provincial police, have launched an investigation and are coordinating search efforts with the family. The school principal noted that Ms. Diem was well-liked and had no known conflicts with colleagues.
