Libri in Viaggio challenge promotes book sharing across Italy

The ‘Libri in Viaggio’ (Books on a Journey) challenge is promoting reading culture by encouraging people to leave books in public spaces for others to find. Participants leave books in various locations, such as airports, cathedrals, and benches, and share photos of the books and their locations in a dedicated social media group.

The initiative, which began with a foreign language teacher, has grown to include over 88,000 users. While active across Italy, including Puglia, Basilicata, and Salento, the movement has also reached international locations such as Paris, Madrid, and Marsa Alam. The project currently aims to reach a milestone of 2,000 books in transit.
