Libya government reviews municipal services and major investment projects

Libya’s Government of National Unity is conducting several administrative and developmental reviews across the country. In Al-Zawiya, a senior meeting led by Minister of State Mohammed bin Ghalboun addressed municipal needs, infrastructure damage, and public service projects. The meeting drew scrutiny due to the presence of Mohammed Bahrun, head of the Security Threats Combat Agency. Bahrun is associated with the Initial Support Force, a powerful armed group in the coastal city, and is reportedly wanted by Libya’s Public Prosecution regarding the alleged detention of armed groups linked to Islamic State in Sabratha.

In Tripoli, officials reviewed the progress of the Zumurrud Mall Investment Project on Airport Road. Mustafa Al-Mana, head of the Executive Team for the Prime Minister's Initiatives and Strategic Projects, met with project owners, consultants, and a consortium including the Libyan Development and Investment Holding Company (LIDCO) and Turkish firms Renaissance and Jawahir. The project is being positioned as a model for large-scale investment partnerships funded outside the general state budget.
