Licata receives monument proposal and poetic tribute

In Licata, Salvatore Pira has proposed the creation of a monument in the Marina district to honor the city’s fishermen and maritime history. The proposal suggests a symbolic figure representing the men of the sea and their tools to serve as a place of memory and a point of interest for visitors. Pira intends to launch a petition to ask the municipal administration to evaluate the project, with the possibility of public fundraising involving citizens and local families.

Additionally, the city has inspired literary tribute from poet Giada Giordano. Following a stay in Licata, the Rome-born poet dedicated a composition to the city, capturing its Mediterranean atmosphere, landscapes, and local character.
