Licata residents placed under house arrest in separate criminal investigations

A 38‑year‑old man from Licata was transferred to house arrest after being convicted of assaulting a police officer with a head‑butt during an incident at the San Giacomo d’Altopasso Hospital emergency department. He had previously been detained for nearly a month on charges of resisting a public official and aggravated injury.

A 24‑year‑old Licata native was arrested at Catania Airport upon returning from Albania and placed under electronic‑monitoring house arrest as part of a probe into alleged illegal waste trafficking. The detention was carried out by Border Police and the Guardia di Finanza, following a precautionary order issued by the Caltanissetta court.
