Liceo Experimental Bilingüe de Belén hosts English literature showcase

Students at the Liceo Experimental Bilingüe de Belén in Heredia, Costa Rica, recently held an immersive creative event titled “Beyond the Pages: English Literature Showcase 2026.” Secondary students from seventh through tenth grade participated by transforming English literary classics into interactive projects, including the design and oral presentation of concepts rooted in their reading materials.

The initiative reflects a broader trend in Costa Rican public education to integrate academic content with workplace competencies. As the Belén region grows as a hub for foreign investment and multinational families, the expansion of bilingual education aligns with local economic development. Legal experts note that maintaining such programs requires strict adherence to Ministry of Public Education (MEP) accreditations, municipal licensing, and labor regulations for bilingual staff.
