Licidersko srce folklore festival to host children from 15 countries

The international children's folklore festival ‘Licidersko srce’ will be held from August 15 to 19 in Užice, Zlatibor, and Višegrad. Celebrating its 18th anniversary under the slogan ‘Adulthood of the Heart,’ the event will feature over 1,000 children aged 10 to 16.

Participants will arrive from Serbia, Republika Srpska, and 12 other countries, including North Macedonia, Georgia, Egypt, Slovakia, Mongolia, Hungary, Germany, France, Turkey, Northern Cyprus, Romania, and Croatia. The festival aims to promote cultural exchange, preserve folklore heritage, and foster international friendships through song and dance.

In addition to folklore concerts, the program includes a traditional costume exhibition, educational seminars, and folklore workshops. A special boat ride from Perućac to Andrićgrad is also planned. A humanitarian campaign, ‘Licidersko srce za decu,’ will collect funds for Bogdan Knežević, a boy from Užice suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy. New features this year include the planting of a ‘Friendship Tree’ in the center of Užice and ‘Games Without Borders’ to promote sportsmanship and tolerance.
