Lickan Ckapar – Raíces del Pueblo Association launches strengthening project

The newly formed Lickan Ckapar – Raíces del Pueblo Indigenous Communities Association has launched a seven-month organizational strengthening project. The initiative aims to enhance internal capacities and foster more articulated participation regarding matters affecting their territory.

The process began with a ‘Convido a la Tierra’, an ancestral ceremony honoring Lickanantay identity and traditions. Following the ceremony, community representatives, a consulting team, and Codelco reviewed the project's planning and upcoming stages.

The program includes an organizational diagnosis, updating statutes and regulations, administrative and legal strengthening, leadership and negotiation training, and the implementation of digital tools and document management. It also covers environmental assessment, citizen participation, and indigenous consultation to build a robust institutional identity.
