Lidl and Biedronka pilot automated parking systems in Poland

Retail chains Lidl and Biedronka are piloting new automated parking systems in Poland. The technology utilizes Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras to track vehicle entry and exit times, eliminating the need for drivers to use parking meters, collect paper tickets, or enter registration numbers manually.

Lidl is currently testing the solution at approximately 10 locations, including Wrocław, Poznań, Kórnik, Lębork, and Rotmanka. The company states that the system is intended to simplify the parking process and increase space availability for customers, noting that parking remains free for customers during their shopping trips. While both retailers report positive pilot results, they have not released specific data regarding customer complaints or payment notices related to the new system.
