Lidl and Whole Foods identified as cheapest and most expensive grocers in New York

A recent study has identified the cheapest and most expensive grocery stores in New York State. According to the findings, New Yorkers may pay up to double for the same basket of groceries depending on where they shop.

Lidl was named the cheapest grocery store in the state, with approximately 40 locations across New York, including two in the Lower Hudson Valley. The company has confirmed plans to expand further north into the Hudson Valley.

Whole Foods was identified as the most expensive supermarket, a result attributed to its focus on premium, organic, and specialty products. The retailer maintains 31 locations across New York, including sites in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island, and Upstate New York.
