Lidl begins early sale of Christmas products in Germany

Lidl has begun stocking Christmas products, such as gingerbread and marzipan, in its German stores during September, despite the late summer temperatures.

A spokesperson for the retailer stated that Lidl aligns its promotional periods with market trends and “customer needs,” noting that these seasonal items are available across more than 3,250 branches in Germany.

Lidl is part of the Schwarz Group, which reported a total turnover of 185.6 billion euros for the 2025 fiscal year. The group employs approximately 604,000 people worldwide.
