Lidl Connect prepaid service uses Vodafone network in Germany
Lidl Connect is a German prepaid mobile brand that operates on Vodafone’s D2 network, having switched from O2 in its early years. The service offers contract‑free plans starting at less than €5 for a four‑week period, with no minimum term and SIM cards sold at Lidl supermarkets. An eSIM option became available in November 2023, allowing activation via QR code on compatible devices. Top‑up vouchers can be bought at Lidl stores, drugstores such as dm, Müller, Rossmann, selected petrol stations, and via Vodafone recharge cards. Accounts inactive for more than six months without credit are automatically deactivated. Tariff options include the no‑fee Classic plan (pay‑per‑minute and per‑SMS) and several Smart bundles: Smart XS (€4.99/4 weeks, 1 GB data, 100 free minutes), Smart S (€8.99/4 weeks, 25 GB data, unlimited calls and SMS), and Smart XL (€18.99/month, 100 GB data, unlimited voice and SMS). Vodafone claims its network covers over 99 % of the German population.
