Lidl expands French operations with new outlets and products
Lidl is expanding its retail footprint in France through the opening of new outlet stores designed to sell non-food unsold inventory. New locations are scheduled to open in Marquette-lez-Lille on September 10 and in Mauguio near Montpellier on September 18. These outlets offer discounts of 30% to 60% on items such as fashion, sports equipment, beauty products, and tools.
In addition to outlet expansion, the retailer is implementing various price-reduction and anti-waste initiatives. This includes selling crates of fruits and vegetables at reduced prices, with 50 cents of every purchase donated to the charity Restos du Cœur. Some locations have also introduced similar discounted options for meat and fish.
Furthermore, Lidl has introduced new household products, including a Grundig 1600 W steam ironing brush. The device features a ceramic-coated heating plate and an electric pump that generates steam at a rate of 25 grams per minute, intended for quick wrinkle removal on garments in both vertical and horizontal positions.
