Lidl expands retail presence in Poland with new Lublin store

Lidl continues its expansion in Poland, recently announcing the opening of its 17th store in Lublin on October 22. The new 1,346 square meter facility at Turystyczna 7 features energy-efficient technologies, including photovoltaic installations, heat pumps, and LED lighting. The opening has created 19 new local jobs.

In terms of market presence, Lidl maintains a significant footprint across major Polish cities, though it trails the Portuguese-owned competitor Biedronka in total store counts. Warsaw hosts the highest number of Lidl locations with 54 stores, followed by Poznań with 32 and Łódź with 31. Despite this, Biedronka maintains a larger presence in these urban centers, such as operating 175 stores in Warsaw compared to Lidl's 54.
