Lidl plans stores in 29 Bosnian cities, adding sites in Mostar, Prijedor and Cazin

German retailer Lidl is rapidly preparing to launch its first stores in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Unofficial information shows the chain is linked to projects in 27 towns and is planning new supermarkets in Prijedor, Cazin and a second outlet in the southern part of Mostar, which would make Mostar one of the few Bosnian cities with multiple Lidl stores.

Confirmed locations also include Vitez, Čapljina, the Koševo neighbourhood of Sarajevo and several other towns such as Kakanj, Zvornik, Gradiška, Bihać, Livno, East Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Gračanica, Trebinje, Bijeljina, Doboj, Zenica, Brčko, Modriča, Laktaši, Travnik, Tešanj, Kiseljak, Čitluk, Živinice, Prnjavor and others. Unofficially, expansion into Široki Brijeg and Sanski Most is also mentioned, which would raise the total to 29 cities. The company is working with local construction firm MT Projekt on some sites.

Lidl has not yet confirmed a store in Tuzla due to land‑acquisition issues. The opening of the new supermarkets is expected in the next year.
