Lidl France to standardize store hours across 1,630 locations

Lidl France has announced plans to harmonize the operating hours of its approximately 1,630 stores across the country. Under the new schedule, stores will open at 8:00 and close at 20:00.

The decision follows a pilot program conducted in several stores in eastern France. According to company management, the primary objective is to improve commercial clarity and ensure consistent scheduling across the entire network, rather than varying by location.

The earlier opening time is expected to benefit bakery and pastry sales by catering to early morning shoppers. While morning hours are changing, evening closing times will remain the same. Sunday openings, which were expanded in June 2025, will continue to follow the established 8:00 to 12:15 window.
