Lidl GB expands self‑scanning 'Lidl and Go' to 37 more stores
Lidl GB is extending its Lidl and Go self‑scanning service to an additional 37 stores across Scotland, the South East and the South of England during July, following a positive response from an initial seven‑store pilot. The feature, integrated into the Lidl Plus app, lets shoppers scan items with their smartphones, track spending in real time and complete payment at the checkout without dedicated in‑store scanners.
Louise Weise, Chief Customer Officer at Lidl GB, said the early feedback was “really encouraging”, noting customers value the control over their spend and the flexibility to shop at their own pace. The rollout is part of a broader digital push that also includes a 60% increase in personalised coupon investment and the launch of Lidl Points earlier this year.
