Lidl handheld steamer goes viral, offers quick wrinkle removal for under €20

Lidl’s own‑brand SilverCrest handheld steamer has become a summer bestseller, with users praising its ability to smooth light fabrics in seconds. The device heats in about 30 seconds, delivers a continuous steam flow of 20 g/min, and works from a removable 250 ml water tank. Two models are sold in Lidl stores and online: a 1.4 kW version priced at €19.99 and a more compact 1.2 kW version at €17.99. Both weigh roughly 814 g, feature a foldable handle and an automatic shut‑off after 15 minutes. Social‑media posts highlight its speed – a full shirt can be de‑wrinkled in under two minutes – and its convenience for travel, allowing users to refresh garments on‑the‑go without an ironing board. Critics note the small water reservoir requires frequent refills for larger loads and that very thick fabrics may not achieve the same finish as a traditional steam iron.
