Lidl Hungary revamps loyalty program and announces price cuts on 400 items

Lidl Hungary has overhauled its loyalty scheme, replacing the former Coupon Plus program with a points system called Lidl Points that started on 2 July. Customers earn one point for every 100 forint spent, and the points can be redeemed for a catalogue of more than 250 offers, with previously collected coupons remaining valid until their original expiry.

From 9 July, the retailer will also lower prices on 400 products over a four‑week period, averaging an 8 % reduction and reaching up to 26 % on selected items such as Milbona cheese slices. The price‑cut initiative builds on earlier cost‑savings from a stronger forint and successful supplier negotiations, reinforcing Lidl’s strategy of providing consistently low prices to Hungarian shoppers.
