Lidl phishing scam targets consumers with fake grocery offers

A phishing scam is targeting consumers using the identity of the discount retailer Lidl. Fraudulent emails are being sent to many residents in Germany, falsely claiming that they can receive a free grocery package worth nearly 50 euros.

The scam instructs recipients to participate in a short survey and pay a small delivery fee. However, the promotion is a targeted attempt at identity theft designed to steal personal and banking information. Once users enter their delivery addresses and payment details, criminals can use the stolen data for future fraud or to charge much larger amounts via stolen credit cards. The deceptive emails often use professional-looking logos and sender names like ‘Lidl Customer Satisfaction’, but they originate from unrelated domains.
