Lidl implements long-term price cuts on hundreds of products in Slovakia
Lidl has announced long-term price reductions on hundreds of products across its Slovakian assortment. The discount retailer is lowering prices by up to 30% on various items, including fresh bakery goods, meat, dairy, frozen foods, beverages, and drugstore products.
Specific examples of price cuts include butter croissants, which have decreased by 35%, and toast bread, which saw a 25% reduction. The retailer also adjusted prices for staples such as eggs and various dairy products like Gouda cheese and cream.
This decision is a long-term strategic move rather than a short-term promotion. It aims to address the high financial burden on Slovak households, where data from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic indicates that food and non-alcoholic beverages account for approximately 26.3% of total household budgets.
