Lidl launches £250 million price‑cut drive in UK and new June deals in Germany
Lidl is investing £250 million in its UK stores to lower prices on more than 1,000 products, including meat, fruit, vegetables, eggs, milk, bread and yoghurt. The discount programme is paired with an expanded Lidl Plus app that now offers a points‑based rewards scheme, personalised coupons and weekly promotions. The retailer also announced a £600 million plan to open over 50 new UK outlets in the coming year.
In Germany, Lidl began a staged “June deals” campaign on 15 June, promoting items such as Tronic fan units, seersucker bedding, beauty and hair‑care products from brands including Remington, and garden and kitchen accessories. The promotions are timed across different product categories to drive demand spikes both in stores and online.
