Climate‑control expert Carlos Llull estimates that running an air‑conditioning unit for eight hours overnight costs about €1 in electricity, depending on the device’s efficiency, the set temperature, home insulation and current electricity rates. He advises using modern, well‑maintained units at moderate temperatures, keeping doors and windows closed, regularly cleaning filters and avoiding extreme thermostat settings to keep energy use low while maintaining comfort.
