Lidl named cheapest supermarket for organic goods in Denmark
A price comparison by Madprisluppen has identified Lidl as the cheapest retailer for organic groceries among seven Danish supermarket chains. The study evaluated a basket containing 22 different organic items, including milk, fruit, vegetables, and pantry staples.
Lidl provided the most affordable basket at 355.2 DKK, followed by Rema 1000 at 360.6 DKK and Netto at 373.8 DKK. In contrast, Meny was identified as the most expensive option, with a total cost of 449.6 DKK, representing a difference of over 94 DKK compared to the cheapest retailer.
Peer Sandtner, purchasing director at Lidl Denmark, stated that the price gap highlights the impact of store choice on household budgets. Lidl previously reduced prices on over 100 organic products earlier this year to increase accessibility for consumers.
