Lidl Portugal selects 50 national producers for supplier network

Lidl Portugal has reached a decisive stage in the third edition of its ‘Da Minha Terra’ program. Following a period of applications that closed on August 15, 2026, the retailer received 130 applications from national suppliers representing 15 different product categories.

From these applicants, 50 producers were selected to participate in a ‘Pitch Day’ held on September 28 and 29. During this event, candidates presented their businesses and products directly to Lidl’s purchasing team. The selection process focused on quality, product potential, and supply capacity. The most prominent categories among the applicants included charcuterie, dry cakes and biscuits, and cheeses, with the ‘Tradition’ category receiving over 40 applications.

Alexandra Borges, Lidl Portugal’s General Purchasing Director, noted that the quality of the applications exceeded expectations. The selected producers will now undergo a period of technical evaluation and testing. Those who successfully pass this stage will officially join Lidl’s supplier network, with the possibility of their products reaching more than 295 stores across Portugal by early 2027.
