Lidl has withdrawn the Dulano Delikatess Edel Salami Rind (100 g) from its stores after the manufacturer Gustoland GmbH detected verotoxin‑producing Escherichia coli (VTEC/EHEC) in the product. The affected batch is identified by the code DE EV 42 EG and a best‑before date of 10 August 2026.
The salami was sold in Lidl outlets across ten German states – Baden‑Württemberg, Bayern, Bremen, Hamburg, Hessen, Niedersachsen, Nordrhein‑Westfalen, Rheinland‑Pfalz, Saarland and Schleswig‑Holstein. Health authorities warn that the bacteria can cause severe diarrhoea and, in vulnerable groups such as children under six, the elderly and immunocompromised persons, may lead to haemolytic‑uremic syndrome (HUS) and kidney failure.
